Here is a dictionary definition of pride: "a high or inordinate opinion of one's own dignity, importance, merit, or superiority." How does pride show up in your life? Does it help you along your way to success or does it hinder you?

There are times when you refuse to participate in an activity or accept an offer because you feel "above all of this". You are too proud to go along. This not only stops you moving with the flow, it also creates a separation between you and the person or the situation. Other times pride stops you from putting on a humble coat and approaching people you want to be connected with. You say:

I can not back out from what I said!
I can not go back on my word.
I will not put up with that kind of treatment.
I will never talk to him/her.
She has to apologise before I take any further steps.

What you are saying is you are too hurt, offended, resentful, angry and too proud to take steps to connect you with the person or situation at hand. There is nothing wrong with that. It just means that you are not connected. You are separate.

Then there are times when pride connects you with others. Imagine for a moment that you take up painting. You get all the learning, the tools and equipment necessary to create an oil painting. Then you create a painting that you think is spectacular. Every time you look at it, it puts a smile on your face. Then you decide to share it with a friend. You are so proud of your work you are bubbling with excitement. You invite your friend over, you tell him how wonderful the lead-up has been, how you got all the tools, how long it took you, where the inspiration came from. Then you come to the room where your painting is and you invite your friend to take a look. He takes one look and says "WOOOOWW! This is spectacular, fantastic. How did you do it?" How would you feel? Proud of your work and connected to your friend. This example could easily be expressed as a trading system or set-up that you are trading.

When you feel self confident, strong, and supported; when you know you have something valuable to share with the world, you say: "I have this jewel. I have this treasure. Come and have a look." You can get to a stage where you feel 100% certain about yourself and are buzzing with enthusiasm that you want to share with the world.

You can be proud of your uniqueness starting right now, as you are a unique miracle from the day you are born to the day you die. You are a contribution to the world in all areas: personal relationships, work, career, creativity, talent and ability. There is no one like you and the things you can do, no one else can. Trust yourself. Be proud. Take yourself out to the world, show and share yourself. You are a spectacular work of art!

Believe, achieve
