Each trading day I go through my routine of checking my charts and checking my markets and today is no exception.

The more knowledge you acquire as a trader, the harder it can be to keep on top of all this information. This used to pose a problem for me – I would be looking at chart patterns, squares, angles, Time Frames, Time by Degrees and many other techniques, but not on a consistent basis.

There aren’t too many things more frustrating for a trader than to put some good work together, see a good trade setup developing and work out a plan for trading this plan when it eventuates, only to forget about the setup! Then, a week, a month, or even a year later, you look back on a market that unfolded just like you thought it would, but you have no profits to show for it!

New traders may think this is funny and “it will never happen to me” but most traders I have spoken to have experienced this at some point.

That’s why you need to be organised and you need to have a daily routine that you check every day. It’s the only way to ensure that you capitalize on your hard work and make the most of your analysis.

Part of my daily routine is to check my saved charts in ProfitSource. Once I see a technique working, I add it to my saved chart folders, and I follow it through.

You can save a chart page by right clicking on “Action” in ProfitSource and selecting “Save Chart Page”

Below is a screen shot showing the easiest way to access your Saved Chart pages, through the Navigation Tree. You can activate the Navigation Tree by left clicking on “Toggle Nav” as highlighted below.

You can open a chart page by selecting it from the Navigation Tree and double clicking your left mouse button on it. Once you have opened a folder, you can use the arrow keys at the bottom right of the screen, or the F3 and F4 keys to scroll quickly through these charts.

I can scan through 20 or 30 charts in around 5 minutes – it all comes with practice!

We are all different people and all different traders – my way may not be the way that works for you, and that’s ok, just as long as you are organised in a way that keeps you on top of your market and on top of your trading.

Be Prepared!
