When it comes to trading and following Australian Stocks I tend to prefer sticking with the top 20 stocks.

Welcome to all our Safety in the Market traders to this month’s newsletter and of course Happy New Year.
Share market movements can seem almost random, and it can often be difficult to rationalize the daily changes in value.
My brain is teaming with issues related to the looming global recession and China. I will try and deal with them succinctly.
This article comes about through a conversation with a student who was saying that there weren’t any trades available on ASX stocks once he had added into his scanning all the possible factors that would help filter out riskier trade setups.
One subscriber asked if I would do a similar review of BHP as I did for oil last week.

Well it has certainly been a big few months in the stock market since the tops of late 2007.
When I see investors buying into the current market I ask myself, who is doing this buying? Why? Do they know something that I don’t?
Copper is an important driver for our market in that it is a bulk commodity that the world still wants and we have in abundance.
