An abundance of people are saying that it is a particularly uncertain time for the market at present. Investors have to contend with a multitude of factors, on a range of fronts, and there is heated debate as to their likely outcome and the impact on securities.

There are a number of reasons to be bullish Australian equities.  A robust economic position, a (now) stable government and if the Australian dollar is any reflection, certainly a very desirable place to put one’s money.

Much of the commentary that we hear on financial markets relates to shorter term analysis. A market move lasting only a few days up or a few days down can create a lot of excitement among journalists and analysts!

Well in my days at BHP it was known as ‘the big Australian blue chip’ and still is, but really it has now become something of a resource monolith of global proportions.

It is very much a cliché, but the world is really becoming a much smaller place. It would be hard to find someone who disagrees with this.
