The markets yo-yo'd again last night as the gains from yesterday were eroded as strong US jobs openings were not enough to hold markets higher. US companies reporting were weaker with Coca Cola sliding 4% and many of the Bio Tech/Pharma stocks lower. Against the backdrop of declining commodities the lead into this mornings market will be weak.

Markets are again likely to start the week with volatility as index , commodity and currency markets all finished the week broadly lower or volatile. In particular after the energy markets strong rebounds they finished the week under pressure.

Again we see volatility in markets as North American and European markets rallied last night, Asian sessions were weaker yesterday as concerns over China dominate the news flow.
 
Energy markets were broadly higher as oil jumped again after sell offs. Currencies were flatter in terms of movement but the Aussie dollar remains under pressure.

A dead cat bounce could be on the cards as all asset classes came under selling pressure overnight. All US , European and Asian indexes were broadly lower with commodities struggling in particular the energy space. Price action is potentially needed to retest the August lows before we see the conviction of the bulls.

A surge in energy prices will greet our domestic markets this morning, the overall commodities complex improved its position with most index markets flat. The currencies space has again moved into a less volatile phase as we await the US Fed updates on interest rates.

The global markets finished flat on Friday but overall the week was higher. The markets now look to the Fed for guidance on interest rates, with discussions about not needing to wait for inflation to tag 2% we could see rate rises but on the cards in the US. The commodities space in particular the energies fired on Fridays sessions up over 5%.

Continued optimism was again seen in North American and European markets overnight, commodities were again lacklustre as the chance of a rate hike in the US looks likely to be on the backburner again.
