Last week I left off with the SPI200 poised to move strongly to the upside on the latest ABC trade. The market hadn’t yet reached the 50% Milestone for the trade, the most critical level for a Starter Pack trade.
A question that I am often asked when providing traders with the education they need to succeed is how much importance to place on news and fundamental indicators. Well this week’s announcement from AMP should speak volumes on how most retail traders should be performing their analysis.
The great thing about Options is they provide such a flexible trading tool and can be applied to effectively every market condition, except it being closed of course. Then again there is time decay! Their flexibility can be their undoing in some Trader’s eyes due to the complexity that can be involved with having so many variables to manage. The main thing is to start with the basics and build from there.
Somebody made the remark to me that investors are frustrated and disappointed with the Australian market of recent times. I was surprised by this view although I thought it worthwhile to re-look at the markets in a different way – good to always have your thinking challenged.
